The Arboretum Needs Your Help!
The Jane Weber Board and committees are made up of volunteers who bring their skills to the property. While those skills are varied and robust the committees are missing some key skills to help manage the property.
Skills needed:
Public Relations
Fundraising and Grants
Education
Arborist/Urban Forester
The Arboretum has reached a point where further public outreach is needed to inform the residence of Vancover that this unique property exists and it is open to the public to enjoy and learn local about history. As part of learning about the local history the Arboretum needs an education plan so that interpretive displays and events tell a coherent story. The Arboretum also needs someone that has the knowledge about trees and how to properly manage them to help direct future additions and management of existing trees. To make all of this happen the Arboretum needs to look at fundraising beyond visitor donations and volunteers. All of this is needed to keep the Arboretum relavent and help manage the property into the future.
